This wild jungle berry has one of the highest recorded sources of vitamin C (more than oranges or lemons, and higher than acerola fruit). The fruit also contains natural rutin and bioflavanoids which can increase the effects of Vitamin C. Camu Camu Mega–C™ contains nutrients such as iron, phosphorus, beta carotene, calcium, vitamin B1, B2 and B3, as well as a comprehensive complex of amino acids. This species grow wild in abundance in swamps along rivers and lakes in Peru, Amazonian Brazil and Venezuela.
This is a tangy, light colored Camu Camu powder derived from the tart juice of the Camu Camu berry. The berries are harvested at peak Vitamin C content when slightly immature. The juice is cold-pressed in stainless steel equipment and then spray-dried on a base of tapioca starch. The resulting powder is typically light, yellow-pink in color, fluffy and blends well in liquids. It is mild flavored and has an acidic, strawberry-lemon flavor.
An excellent source of natural vitamin C, it is perfect for use in juices, smoothies, teas, pastries or food bars.
