Catuaba is a flowering tree found in the Amazon jungle. Indigenous people have used Catuaba for generations. It is one of the most famous of the Brazilian aphrodisiac plants. Brazil’s native Tupi tribe first discovered this quality of catuaba bark hundreds of years ago, and even composed many songs praising its abilities. In the northern Amazon, natives have all used Catuaba to support the central nervous system and as a general tonic. While no clinical research has validated the traditional use of Catuaba as an aphrodisiac, it continues to be used widely for its purported ability to enhance sexual drive and increase libido in both men and women.
Catuaba contains alkaloids, tannins, aromatic oils and fatty resins, phytosterols, cyclolignans, sequiterpenes, and flavonoids. We prepare our Catuaba Extract from the dried bark of the Catuaba tree sourced directly from Brazil.
