Suma (Pfaffia paniculata) is a large ground vine with an intricate root system. It is native to the Amazon basin as well as parts of Brazil, Ecuador, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, and Venezuela. It has been called “Para Toda,” meaning “for all things”.
Natives have used this herb to promote robust health for over 300 years. Suma has also been used as an adaptogen with many applications. Considered as a tonic worldwide, it is often used to help regulate many systems of the body. The definition of an herbal adaptogen is a plant that increases the body’s resistance to adverse influences by a wide range of physical, chemical, and biochemical factors and has a normalizing or restorative effect on the body as a whole.
We prepare our Suma extract from the dried root of the Suma plant sourced directly from Brazil.
